This one is from last week. August is singing "Old MacDonald had a nothing", combined with BINGO. He's so silly!

It's been a while!
Life has been busy! Here are a couple of short videos of August. The first is of August with his best friend, Jordan. It's a bit old (from the summer), but the two of them are so cute together, I just had to share.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!
August wanted to share a special song for Grandpa on his birthday. He's been practicing for weeks (I'm not kidding!) Unfortunately, he sings best in the bathtub.
Happy birthday!!!

Trains!
August has a new love... TRAINS! Or as he calls them, "choo-choos". We ended up getting him an early birthday present - a big wooden train set on a table. He absolutely loves it. We're keeping it up in the library, so now when we're downstairs, he likes to stand at the gate to the stairs and reach up saying "choo-choo, choo-choo" in a desperate voice until we take him up there. It's hours and hours of entertainment for him.

Stitches!!!
August had his first injury. It started with a little game of peek-a-boo with his blanket. He was all ready to go to bed early (he had a nasty cold and was miserable all day). It was the happiest he'd been all day. He was running around the couch holding up the blanket over his head... it was super cute. Then, he stepped on the blanket and slipped and fell right into the corner of the end table. Ugh!
Rob and I were both right there. Rob was closer and picked him up. Before either of us saw his face, I said "I hope that wasn't the corner". Sure enough, it was. I saw his face first... it looked horrible! It was like there was a big deep dent right in his head. We grabbed keys and my purse and ran out the door to go to the ER.
August stopped crying by the time we got to the hospital and was acting normal, just tired. He was quite a little trooper. He wasn't too interested in the doctors taking his vitals, but when the doctor wasn't around (which was most of the time), he was pretty happy. Finally, he fell asleep. The stitching woke him up and he cried and cried because he was being restrained. It was pretty terrible. He ended up crying himself out and fell asleep again towards the end of the stitching.
He has been normal since then. It doesn't look nearly as bad as we expected. August doesn't seem at all bothered by it. Sometimes he points to his OTHER eye and says "Owie", but that's about it. We go to get the stitches removed on Wednesday. I'm very much not looking forward to it!
